Floating lounger chair, science fiction meets the lazy boy lifestyle

A British firm has developed and released a new lounger chair that sounds like the stuff of science fiction. Forget leather la-z-boys, forget automatic recliners, forget gaming chairs… could this chair be the chair of the lazy boys of the future?

That’s right folks, “The Lounger” from firm Hoverit is a built to order chair, that uses the power of magnets to literally float on air. While the plastic construction may not make it the most comfortable looking chair, surely nothing could be softer and more relaxing than lying back on your lounger and just floating on air?!

This cutting edge piece of furniture does not come cheap though, costing around £6,000, with several options for customization, including different colour acrylics and finishes.

Steve Wild from Hoverit is quoted as saying

The Hoverit Lounger is British designed and built. It is precision engineered from clear acrylic and hovers through the use of powerful magnets, floating up and down on two guide bars to give the feeling of lying in mid-air.

Their tag is “Float away your stress on our unique suspended lounger” and this certainly is a very unique piece of furniture. Apparently there are more chairs to come in the range of floating furniture from Hoverit, and we’ll certainly be looking out for them here at Lazy Boy Furniture. Incredible stuff, and if you’re looking for contemporary furniture, then you wont get any more cutting edge than this!
