We’ve searched for as much information as we can find about this ultimate item of furniture for all aspiring lazy boys, but information seems sparse or out of date, we really don’t know where this chair is still available from, if at all. The official La-Z-Boy website came up with nothing, and Google seems full of conflicting or confusing information.

First, you start with a big, comfy leather recliner, backed by the usual La-Z-Boy quality and guarantee. Then, make it a massage chair, for even further stress release as you chill. Sound good so far? But what about a phone, so you don’t have to leave your throne when the bell tolls? No problem. But that’s not all, this beauty even includes a build in fridge, suitable for several cans of beer!

A rather inventive chap has posted his own, unique La-Z-Boy recliner, complete with joystick operated electronic motor. Now the idle so-and-so doesn’t ever have to leave his chair, even when he needs to pop out to purchase some kettle chips or beer for his next session sitting in front of the TV.

There is, however, one major issue with this apparently ultimate in lazy boy furniture. It is a DIY project. Surely the very concept being a lazy boy, sitting in your favourite chair all day long, flies in the face of the concept of do-it-yourself, even if the fruits of your endeavour is the perfect reclining chair for would be full time bottom warmers?

Unfortunately this particular effort appears to be a special, limited edition piece of furniture, and not available for other lazy boys to buy. We’ll be keeping our eyes out for more like this at Lazy Boy Furniture, you never know, someone may decide to make a business venture out of mobile reclining chairs.

Surely the single piece of seating that springs to mind is the recliner, even the company after all lazy boy’s hearts, La-Z-Boy, produced the original recliner, so that’s got to be a match made in heaven?

La-Z-Boy were originally called the Floral City Furniture Co, founded in 1928 by cousins Edward Knabusch and Edwin Shoemaker in Michigan USA. The name La-Z-Boy was adopted in 1931 as a result of a contest between employees to come with a new name for the company, the same year that the cousins received the first ever patent for an automatic recliner.

Since those early days recliners have come in all shapes and sizes, but the basic concept remains the same. You sit in a recliner and all is well with the World, you lean back, the chair leans back with you, and somehow the World is even better.

While recliners remain basically the same in concept, technology and the World in general have moved on around them, the recliner is still suited ideally to all lazy boy’s seating needs.  Reading, listening to the radio, television, satellite and cable, playing on your console…  The recliner really can be the centre of any genuine lazy boy’s lifestyle.

But recliners are far from the only option out there, especially in Today’s market, so we’ll be looking at many more seating varieties at Lazy Boy Furniture than just those you can’t help but sit back and relax in.
