Home cinema seating could quite possibly the ideal form of lazy boy furniture, however we haven’t previously featured it due to it’s quite exclusive and limited nature. If you’re buying online from a recognized and well respected furniture store, or even other kind of established retailer, then you will probably have the confidence to buy online without worrying if the company will be around in a month when your seat cushions fall apart (not that they will, we’re just saying they might). But if you’re considering purchasing from a less familiar online furniture retailer, we would suggest you are more cautious. Legitimate retailers will not mind if you phone them first to check their contact number (not a cell phone either) is real, and they wont mind if you want to ask a few questions about returns policy and warranties.

The other obvious draw back of buying your Lazy Boy Furniture online is the fact you cant try before you buy. That contemporary recliner may look good in a quarter page jpeg image, but what if it feels cheap and flakey, or what if that luxurious leather recliner actually reminds you of the worst faux leather seats from the 70s?

You’re going to be sitting in your lazy boy furniture for some time to come, all being well, so it’s got to be worth the effort to get out there and try a few out before making a snap decision online. And when you do buy online, buyer beware, and you could get a real bargain.

Contender number one, the Sofa, aks couch. A piece of seating so popular they had to name it twice. The sofa is an ever present in most homes today, if people only have one chair, that chair tends to be a couch. Sofas are social seating, good for cuddling up on, good for sharing a pizza on while watching the sport on TV. In fact, a group of lazy boys stuffed into a couch, pizza and beer at the ready, watching their favourite game on the TV is pretty much lazy boy heaven. So the couch is a strong contender for the crown.

The downside is that they also attract women, this isn’t always a bad thing, but often you’re expected to ‘budge over’ or ‘make room’ for your better half when all you want to do is stretch out and relax in front of the box. So sharing your personal space, while often lovely, can also be counted as a mark against.

The Chaise Longue is our wildcard entry. It’s a chair for one, but the size of a sofa, so surely it’s ideal for your average lazy boy? However, there is one major drawback. They’re girl’s chairs. No idea why, they just air. You get them in hallways, and they come in more floral patterns than varieties of cow hide. Then there’s the poncey name. Girl’s chairs cannot be lazy boy furniture heaven.

The Arm Chair is another obvious entry. But an armchair is just a recliner with functions removed, or a shrunken couch, depending on how you look at it. Old people like armchairs, not lazy boys. So again, nice try, but in general, not a chance.

Gaming chairs must be strong contenders, you sit there wasting your time playing computer games, what more could you want in a piece of lazy boy furniture? Well, maybe comfort. Gaming chairs in general are like arcade machines with the capsule removed. Not great for lounging in. So close, but no cigar.

The Recliner. The recliner surely is the ideal lazy boy furniture. They come in all shapes and sizes, leather, fabric, they usually include a foot rest, and can even give you a massage. What more could you want?! The only downside is the room many recliners can occupy in your room, so you’ll need a bigger lounge if you want the fellas around to watch the big game together. But maybe it’s worth it anyway?!

We’ve searched for as much information as we can find about this ultimate item of furniture for all aspiring lazy boys, but information seems sparse or out of date, we really don’t know where this chair is still available from, if at all. The official La-Z-Boy website came up with nothing, and Google seems full of conflicting or confusing information.

First, you start with a big, comfy leather recliner, backed by the usual La-Z-Boy quality and guarantee. Then, make it a massage chair, for even further stress release as you chill. Sound good so far? But what about a phone, so you don’t have to leave your throne when the bell tolls? No problem. But that’s not all, this beauty even includes a build in fridge, suitable for several cans of beer!

The Ultimate Game Chair could be just the thing you’re after. It’s just about every lazy boy’s dream, like a comfy leather massage chair combined with a sit-in arcade machine, all in the comfort of your lounge or games room.
